Ashes 2019 is proving to be a golden hen for Steve Smith. The way he has performed so far it shows his class and technique of playing test cricket. He has proven himself every time when his team needed him. Smith has got a huge stock of cricket records in his shelf with most of them in test cricket. That’s why he is crowned as “test expert” by the cricketing world.


Coming back to his current form, in 2nd innings of 2nd test of ashes 2019, Smith played a blistering innings of 92 runs. This innings was ended by Chris Woakes also including two lethal bouncers from the debutante Archer. His innings included 14 beautiful boundaries and his delightful footwork.

His scorecard runs down back to ashes 2017-18, when Australia thrashed England comprehensively with a 4-0 win. In that series, Smith was captaining the side and scored 687 runs at an average of almost 140 which included a double ton, too. His heroic innings has always brought colours and lead his team to victory. The way he played in first test of ashes 2019 and scored centuries both innings clearly took Australia over the line. In that match, Australia managed a 251-runs victory over England despite of 122-8 in their first innings.

This test match also proved to be a nightmare for Smith, when Archer bowled two quick bouncers speeding 96 mph. After which, smith had to retire hurt in the afternoon session.
