According to details, after initial consultation for head coach and Test captain in Pakistan Cricket Board, Azhar Ali will be Test captain again after replacing Sarfraz Ahmed.
However, the contract for Mikey Arthur will be extended and he is likely to remain head coach until the T20 World Cup.
According to sources, to reduce the burden of Sarfraz Ahmed, PCB is agreed on Azhar Ali to be the captain of the Test team, while Sarfraz Ahmed will be the captain of ODI and T-20. While top order batsman Babar Azam will be appointed as vice captain in all three formats so that he has experience and can lead the national team in due time.
